![]() Towards the beginning of the game, you get a certain weapon upgrade that allows you to switch your regular assault rifle into a sniper rifle, which really comes in handy sometimes. However, while kind of a cool feature that makes you feel like the squad leader, it gets sort of old after the first few levels because you start asking yourself "why do i need to order them to do this, can't they just take some initiative and do it themselves?" Another different feature not found in other Star Wars games is the convenient weapons system they integrated into it. Unlike most Star Wars games like this, you get to certain parts in the game where you can't advance until you've ordered your other squad members to do something or hold a position so they don't get killed, and it gets pretty challenging at times since it may require a split-second reaction sometimes. While admittedly not the best Star Wars game ever made, Republic Commando is still a decent first-person shooter.
